One plate is the amount the calories and protein above are for.

Before You Start

Set up a steamer or a pot with a little water and a lid, and have a bowl ready.

How To Make It
  1. Bring a small amount of water to a boil in a pot over high, about 3 minutes, until it steams hard.
  2. Add the edamame, cover, and steam, 5 to 6 minutes, until the pods are bright green and the beans are tender.
  3. Drain and sprinkle with the sesame seed and a little salt.
  4. Serve warm or let them cool.
Fix It: If the pods taste bland, sprinkle a little more salt while they are hot so it sticks to the shells.
Microwave
  1. Add the ingredients you would cook together to a microwave safe bowl along with their liquid.
  2. Cover loosely and microwave in one minute bursts, stirring between each, until hot through.
  3. Let it stand for a minute, then finish and plate the dish as written in the steps above.
